Calendar
Sangheeut

2025

The project draws from a 19th-century German custom of lighting a candle or opening a small paper door each day in anticipation of Christmas—a tradition that eventually became the Advent Calendar. Calendar brings this idea into the gallery as a spatial structure 24 compartments and 24 openings. Each day, one work is revealed, and the exhibition comes together in its complete form only on the final day. Rather than building a single narrative, the exhibition looks at the day as the smallest unit of display and observes how these daily moments, placed side by side, form a larger structure. It also makes visible the process by which an exhibition is assembled over time.
