In transitioning from London to Bangkok, Natalie Sasi Organ has found it essential to document her time in both locations considered part of her heritage, continuously producing the work in ode to her persona Luuk Sao. Luuk Sao is a persona where the artist uses her body as an agency to discuss both heritage of Thai and English intertwining and co-existing from a feminine lens. The video resides in two locations; both grandparents homes located in two starkly contrasting situations in an attempt to analyse the dualistic identity and liminalities of being a bi-racial woman lacking a sense of home. In ‘IN THE ABSENCE OF OUR LANDS', two cultures are in dialogue, conversing on issues of rootlessness, isolation, and migration, which all form the basis of Luuk Sao’s existence in the attempt to integrate both cultures into one entity.
